Eye Care
We offer personalised eye care for all ages, including full optometric and dispensing services. All locations have wheelchair access and our Dunedin practice has four client parking spaces.
Comprehensive eye exams
A standard exam takes up to 45 minutes and includes a prescription check plus a thorough assessment of eye health. For those aged 60+, we recommend a dilated exam (about 1 hour). Drops are used to widen pupils for a clearer view of the retina so your vision may be blurred for 1–2 hours afterwards.
Therapeutic Care
Our therapeutically qualified optometrists can diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, from infections and allergies to retinal problems. If you notice red eyes, light sensitivity, sudden vision changes, or flashes of light, please contact us immediately.
Children’s exams
Good vision is essential for learning and development. We provide thorough eye checks for children of all ages, ensuring any vision issues are identified and treated early.
Aditional Testing
Additional tests may be recommended to give a more detailed view of your eye health, such as retinal photography, OCT scans, corneal topography, or visual field testing. These help with early detection and monitoring of eye conditions and may incur an additional charge.
Drivers License exams
When renewing your driver’s licence, a vision check is required. Some people with good vision in each eye may still struggle with the test, especially those with a history of squint or lazy eye. We offer a quick 15-minute check and can provide the necessary LTSA form. If your vision doesn’t meet the standard, a full eye exam may be needed.
Eye Exam Frequency
We generally recommend a full eye exam every 2 - 3 years, or more often for children and those with conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, or diabetes.
Contact Lenses
Contact lenses are a convenient, glasses-free way to see clearly for everyday wear, sport, or special occasions. We can supply a wide range of lenses to suit your vision and lifestyle, and can support you with fittings, advice, and ongoing care to ensure your eyes remain healthy and comfortable.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) for myopia control
Ortho-K lenses are specially designed to gently reshape the cornea while you sleep, giving you clear vision during the day without the need for glasses or contacts. They’re an excellent option for active people and a proven method for slowing the progression of childhood myopia.
