Children’s Examinations
Children’s Examinations
Our child examinations focus on ensuring your child’s eyes are healthy and functioning optimally. Gradual changes in vision can occur without you or your child noticing. If you or someone else has raised concerns about your child’s eyesight or behaviour, we recommend having a check. Children may also be referred to an optometrist after having a school vision screening test.
We generally allow up to 45 minutes for a child’s examination. These consultations are highly tailored, and there may be times where you are asked to return for additional appointments to get the best results. These will be discussed with you by your optometrist.
Enable Spectacle Subsidy
For those who have a Community Services Card, if your child is aged 15 or under, you may be entitled to a Spectacle Subsidy under the Ministry of Health. This subsidy can assist towards the cost of the eye examination, spectacle frame and lenses.
